Yes, we know the Constitution wasn't launched until 1799, and that the battle depicted in this painting wasn't fought until the War of 1812. The reasons that this painting is in the gallery are:

1. We may not know art, but we know what we like.

2. We didn't have any RevWar Naval pictures.

It's also our mystery picture. Someone sent it to our webmaster, but we didn't know who the artist is or how it came into existence.
